THE GAME OF LIFE: MIKEY LIKES IT!

We're in the middle of figuring out a method for perforating the skin for our new kite using a cellular-automatic pattern generator similar to Conway's Game of Life. We're also trying to wrap our heads around Tom Ray's Tierra, a virtual evolution machine embedded with the ability to mutate its own source-code, and hoping this gives us the ability to generate some interesting patterns that enhance the kite's performance as a parafoil.
